Food Review - 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria

Image
I was invited to a special media tasting of the newly opened 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria, at the new extension of Mall of the Emirates. earlier this month. Their  concept relies on creating completely customisable traditional Neapolitan Pizzas that are baked in an almond wood oven right in front of the us in 90 seconds! Yes.. that is under 2 minutes! The menu does not conform to pizzas alone; it also has gelato, burratas, ricotta cheese bread and salads along with a gluten-free crust option. My favourite on the menu was the ricotta cheese bread which is creamy and stringy at the same time, with every bite there was a burst of cheese and flavour that I couldn't get enough of! In addition I loved the burrata, I tried the pesto and cherry tomato option but I hear the balsamic is good too.  The pizza's them selves are good, but a bit too saucy for me and can get soggy quickly due to its thin base, so you have to eat it rather fast enough to maintain that fresh from the ov

Did you know about skin health?

When it comes to taking care of ourselves, we all know the importance of exercise, a smart diet and good sleep. But there’s one aspect of wellness that not enough people pay attention to: skin health. What is skin health? On a functional level, it means your skin is working properly. It means it’s sufficiently hydrated and therefore able to protect you from environmental damage. When your skin is well cared for, you’re free from dryness. Healthy skin feels comfortable and looks beautiful. The people at Vaseline Arabia shared sone insights into skin health with Komal's Korner. Healthy skin is your first line of defense: Skin is your body’s largest organ, and its most important functions are keeping moisture in and keeping bad stuff out. The top layer of skin—also known as the stratum corneum—skin cells protect against infection-causing microbes and bacteria. However, the stratum corneum is also highly susceptible to dryness and damage. If dryness penetrates too deeply, i

Food Review - The Melting Pot

Image
Classic Alpine Swiss fondue The white and milk chocolate fondue Get Dipping with the Melting pot at Boxpark in Dubai. This new fondue place is perfect for cheese and chocolate lovers. I tried the classic alpine Swiss fondue which is all cheese and perfect for those who love the mild flavour of cheese. But if you like a little more flavour or punch in your fondue try the spinach artichoke or fiesta flavour. The cheese fondues are accompanied with fruits, veggies, breads and even nachos. Lemongrass orange sparkler and pina colada were the two  drinks I tasted at this special blogger event, both of which were up to my expectations (which were high). I tried two of the salads, one with strawberries and one without. And I loved them! Both of them shared a similar taste of salad leaves, thousand island dressing and nuts, with a few exceptions here and there. I ended my evening on a sweet note ( as always). For the dessert I picked dark c

The Dome Box - A New Sensory Experience

Image
I recently visited the The Dome Box, located at BoxPark in Dubai for a screening and the experience was mind blowing! Lying down on comfy bean bags I actually felt like I was inside the movie. Why you ask? Because of the state-of-the-art 360-degree screen that intersperses exceptional audio-visual technology, making visitors feel centre-stage and immersing them in the action as it unfolds. The Dome Box is not just for adults, rather the entire family. They screens four family-friendly animated movies that focus on nature, science and the environment.  One of the things that I loved about The Dome Box were these doors (featured below) leading to the theater. They are meant to represent a time machine which can lead you into a different time. Featured above is the drink and snacks bar, which give the place more of a luxurious feeling than an ordinary cinema hall.  Want to know more? The Dome Box is open from 12 noon until 10pm from Sunday to Thursday, and from 12 noon un
