Happy UAE National Day

Its December! Tis the season to be jolly!! If you haven't already gathered, I am very much into the festive spirit. Its not just me, December is a month that puts a smile on almost everyone's face. Its the end of the year and time for a new beginning, its the holiday season, the party season, the wedding season and here in UAE its the season of national pride.

I'm also taking this opportunity to introduce my brand new website www.komalskorner.com, the place you are at right now. Its got a bit of the old and a bit of the new and its got a whole lotta me and the community in it, so take a look around and tell me what you think. At the same time I  would like to offer my condolences to Paul Walker's family and friends, the Fast and the Furious actor who passed away in a tragic car accident last night on his way to a charity event, may his soul rest in peace.

Now coming back to the National Day celebrations. The country is celebrating its 42 year as the United Arab Emirates. This years celebration has added vigour in light of the recent win by Dubai to host the Expo in 2020. The spirit of the Union can be see all over the country ahead of the National day on December 2. Here are some images from Al Ain and Dubai.

Cars, Buildings and hotels in Dubai add the colours of the UAE flag to show of their love for the nation. Above a car parked at Dubai Mall, left and right buildings at Dubai Internet City.

Cars and streets(below) alike are all geared up for National Day

The local dance being performed at Al Ain Mall.

For those who have not joined the festivities, you still have time. There is a parade to celebrate national day today, so head to downtown Dubai to see fun floats, performances and much more. Malls, parks and amusements parks are all lined up with a number of events free and ticketed. So what are you waiting for get dressed and head out.

I'll leave you here today with some images from the streets of Al Ain. All have them have been taken from a fast moving car so I apologies for the blurriness.
