Here's a quick 'to check out list' for the week.

The camel Racing season kicks off tomorrow at the Al Marmoum Racetrack on the Dubai - Al Ain highway. I got a glimpse of the camels practicing yesterday on my way to Dubai from Al Ain.

It's time to indulge your senses in an array of flavours, colours and fragrances. For those interested in food, there is a Dubai Food Bloggers event happening at the Dubai mall, till September 23rd. A number of lip smacking dishes are going to be prepared and available for sampling. So what are you waiting for head to Galeries lafayette between12 - 4 pm. For more details check out The Dubai Mall's Facebook page. *Free event!

For all music lovers out there, the Dubai music week starts on September 24th and geo sono tilt 29th. With Will.i.am performing and 26th and Farhan Aktar and Pritiam among others will be performing on 28th. The event is being held at the World Trade Center and is sure to draw a major crowd. September 26th is the European Day of languages which is being celebrated in languages across the country. Eton institute and International House Dubai are two places I know of holding events. Check out their respective sites for more details. *Free event!

The weekend is going to witness the Wedding fair along with the ongoing Dubai music week. The fair is going to be held at The Address Dubai Marina from 2 - 8 pm on 28 and 29th Steptember. *Free event

Food Review - Circle Café

Circle Café has proudly joined the re-invention club and launched a new menu recently and I'm going to give you a low down on how well they scored. Tucked away into the quite Business Bay square in downtown Dubai, Circle Café is a cosy hidden gem. The simple and elegant interiors give a very relaxed home feel which makes the food more enjoyable. Let's get down to business then..First up were the Bagel chips. As the name suggests they were thinly sliced baked Bagel chips served with a Tarama Truffle dip. From the first bite I knew this dish was going to be in my top three for the night. They were so crisp and light that I couldn't stop munching. The zatar type seasoning gave it the perfect amount of subtle flavour. For those with a preference for stronger taste, the dipping sauce gives it a unexpected punch which grows on you with every bite. Food Review - Carluccio's and Bloomsbury Review

 The Dubai Mall has numerous hidden gems and every time I go there I stumble upon something new. A little pop up shop or cafe situated in some corner of the mall can always surprise. The places I tried this week aren't very hidden, but this was the first time I tried them. I did come across a new home store where I've never been before, but today we'll stick to Carluccio's and Bloomsbury. Carluccio's as the name suggest is Italian. You have two seating options, one facing the fountain and the other facing the mall (see image below). The service was friendly and quick considering the fact that it was a Thursday. We ordered two pizzas, a pasta and a salad. The margarita was thin crust, soft, chewy and pretty good. They did not have any options in chicken pizza's so we ordered for grilled chicken topping with our pizza., the result chicken strips on top of the same Margarita pizza.
